Wholeness
In order to become a happy and independent human being it is not only necessary to develop intellectual performance, but also creativity, willpower and social skills. It is considered essential to pay the same amount of attention to knowledge, creative thinking, well-balanced emotional life and health.
Co-operation
In Private school Läte a child learns through activity, experience and cognition. The hands, the heart and the head learn to operate together. Our school consciously develops social skills, the ability to take into consideration other peoples’ needs and the capability to act together towards the same goal. For a student the teacher is a partner who acts as a mediator; he conveys ideas, feelings or information and imparts wisdom to the pupils by means of experience and practice. The school functions as a result of co-operation between children, families and teachers.
Environment
We wish for the school environment to have a harmonizing effect on the child’s mind. In a Waldorf school everything natural is in the foreground – natural materials, tastes, the pure sound of human voice, live music, harmonic colours etc. It is also extremely essential to give children enough time to finish their activities in peace, to cognize and store the new information.
Rhythm
The rhythm of everyday life helps us to act effectively and successfully. Alternating rhythms support the learning process, just like breathing in and out is the base for good health.
School-life runs its course in a rhythm, which reckons with the natural alternation of days, weeks, months and seasons. Every lesson has its rhythm – a certain order of activities, which gives children a sense of security, but also keeps their minds awake. Seasonal and monthly fluctuations are celebrated in our school by traditional parties, which help to develop children’s aesthetic taste, self-expression and experience success.
