Folklore
We learn to understand and to carry on Estonian traditional culture and we do that through the means of folk music, fairytales, folktales, riddles, sayings etc. We also bring back to life ancient lyrical plays.
From the 1st grade all pupils will learn to play the traditional Estonian musical instrument, the small zither. We play zither melodies and sing folk songs, which have been collected from our folklore over hundreds of years.
Instructors are Epp Orgse and Helle Suurlaht.
Zither-playing club for parents
Since the year 2007, the parents of Private School Läte have built zithers with their own hands.
The pupils use these zithers in their weekly music lessons.
At parents’ request we started with a zither-playing club for parents.
The instructor is Helle Suurlaht.
